We will be picking their brains, extracting their secrets for success and listening to their reflections on their careers. My name is Sally Jackson Freeman and I have been working in the music industry since the 80’s. I started out as a runner in my Dad’s recording studio working with such iconic bands as Motorhead and have just completed a 10 year stint at Glastonbury in the Dance Field working with artists such as Stormzy and Fatboy Slim. In recent years I have lecturing on a masters course at Tileyard Studios, BIMM and had the privilege to mentor the next generation of music industry professionals around the world. Over the past 30 plus years in the music business I have pretty much seen and heard it all, the good, the bad and the ugly…. The one thing I know beyond doubt, is that behind every superstar, is a huge team of highly successful and talented individuals who help the artists realise and monetise their talent. I am interested in what makes these people successful and the journey’s they have been on to achieve their success. This podcast is dedicated to finding out what makes these people so successful and sharing their insider knowledge and tips with you. I am delighted to welcome Marc JB to the Secrets of Success Podcast. Marc has had Over 90 #1s in the USA and UK Charts.
He is one half of remixers/producers BIMBO JONES - remixing artists including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Pink, Ke$ha, Kylie, Kelis, The Killers, Tinchy Stryder, Katy Perry and Alexis Jordan.
He has been nominated world's best remixer 6 years in a row. Marc is a Co-producer on Latin Grammy winning and Grammy nominated album with Sergio Mendes. JB has worked with Cyndi Lauper, Beverley Knight, Simon Bartholomew (Brand New Heavies), Omar, KC and Jocelyn Brown.
Marc's film and TV catalog is played across the globe reaching millions of listeners every year. He has had cuts with several prime network adverts and films including Tomb Raider II.
A seasoned song writer, multi instrumentalist, jazz pianist, sound designer and a pioneering force in ecstatic dance, future disco, funky house, future bass and organic ambient music.
